The lawsuit filed by the President against the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence will not have any legal standing or prospects. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“I believe this lawsuit has no prospects. It is impossible to argue that transparency is bad or legally wrong. One positive side of this lawsuit is that Salome Zourabichvili made the mistake of recognizing the legitimacy of the Constitutional Court, the same court that declared Salome Zourabichvili a violator of the Constitution. By doing so, she admitted that the country has a president who violates the Constitution. She admits this fact, which is very good. As for the lawsuit, I reiterate that it will not have any perspective, either legally or otherwise”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The President of Georgia has filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court, seeking to suspend and ultimately cancel the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence, arguing it is unconstitutional.
