Of course, we attach great importance to close cooperation with the United States - Levan Davitashvili

The First Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Economy said it was “very clear” that the country had “not deviated from its Euro-Atlantic path”.

Levan Davitashvili’s comment came after the United States paused over USD 95 million in assistance to Georgia over a controversial law on transparency of foreign influence adopted by the Parliament earlier this year.

“For us, the rapprochement and partnership with the West remains as relevant as it has always been. Therefore, of course, we attach great importance to close cooperation with the US.

I can’t say anything about this assistance specifically - I do not know what it is about. Perhaps there will be more clarification, but we will have close cooperation with the US and we must further deepen it”, - said the Minister.
