Some of the NGOs, together with the representatives of opposition, publicly carried out agitation-propaganda against the Government, didn’t keep neutrality - Givi Mikanadze

It is a reality that NGOs are talking about conducting and transparency in a free, equal and competitive environment, and on the other hand, they are actively involved in political activities. Such a statement made Givi Mikanadze, MP from the Georgian Dream, at today’s briefing.

“Some of the NGOs, along with representatives of opposition political parties, publicly implemented political content, agitation-propaganda against the Government and did not keep neutrality.

Their attempt is to make part of the community in advance a false perception of the government’s impact on the election results. It seems that the use of double standards was systematic by NGOs.

On July 21, Transparency International [TI] Georgia, Eka Gigauri, Nino Lomjaria and Giorgi Ushikishvili held joint meetings with the population in Batumi. The panel was led by Zviad Koridze. Despite the status of neutrality in the electoral processes stated by TI, the agitation-propaganda against the Georgian Dream was openly observed. As for Giorgi Ushikishvili, he has moved from the scene to politics and joined the “Lelo, Ana Dolidze - For People and Freedom Square”.

NGOs continue to have a targeted discrediting campaign against the ruling party. A striking example of this is the placement of video clips of anti-government content by the Soros Foundation on the Facebook.

This is another proof of how NGOs use foreign funding against the ruling party. At the same time, this is an organization that funds local observer organizations in the elections. These facts once again reveal the harmonious compatibility of opposition political parties and a number of NGOs.

Interestingly, the reports of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, Fair Elections and local NGOs are not mentioned in the pre -election period, which once again makes sense that their attitude is subjective and focused only against the government team”, - said Givi Mikanadze.
