The US Embassy in Georgia explains why the invitation of Irakli Kobakhidze to the reception of Joe Biden was canceled.

According to the Embassy, the reason for the cancellation of the invitation was concern with anti-democratic actions on the part of the Georgian authorities.

“The Biden administration canceled the invitation of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to the annual reception within the framework of the UN Assembly and refused to meet with the Georgian delegation, which was the reason for the growing concern of the Georgian government about anti-democratic actions, disinformation and negative rhetoric towards the US and the West”, - says the Embassy.
