Coalition for Change rejects meeting with OSCE Secretary General

We refused to meet with the OSCE Secretary General, as we believe that clarity and consistency are essential for overcoming the regime and achieving the historic aspirations of the Georgian people. Such a statement was released by the Coalition for Change.

"This omission is being exploited by the regime in a manner reminiscent of Russian propaganda, aiming to legitimize their anti-democratic, anti-Western actions.

Georgia is currently enduring a profound political crisis driven by the anti-democratic actions of the Georgian Dream - deviation from constitutional norms, widespread electoral fraud, the torture of peaceful demonstrators, and the wrongful detention of innocent citizens.

In this context, the OSCE Secretary General`s meeting with representatives of the illegitimate government, without mentioning the crisis, serves to embolden the regime`s anti-democratic rhetoric.

Moreover, the OSCE/ODIHR`s findings indicate that the violations in the October 26 elections have diminished public confidence in the electoral process. For these reasons, we declined to engage in this meeting, as we assert that clarity and consistency are indispensable for defeating the regime and fulfilling the aspirations of the Georgian people. Our international partners, including OSCE member states, are aware of our stance, which has led to the activation of the so-called Vienna Mechanism against Ivanishvili`s regime, previously employed against Belarus and Russia", - reads the statement.
