Mayor of Tbilisi instructed the Municipal Inspection to take appropriate measures to accept the completed buildings into operation on time.
“The acceptance of completed construction projects in the capital city into operation and the verification of their compliance with permitting conditions is a top priority for us.
To address this issue, the municipality has developed a temporary procedure for the commissioning of such construction projects, under the framework of which, and based on expert assessments issued by state-accredited expert bureaus as well as adherence to safety standards, 910 completed buildings have already been accepted into operation.
As a result, nearly 30,000 families (owners) have obtained legally flawless property ownership. Currently, 230 multi-apartment residential buildings, affecting up to 10,000 families (owners), are under review for commissioning.
Since numerous requests have been submitted by residents of these buildings, I would like to instruct the Municipal Inspection to take appropriate measures to expedite the process and ensure the timely commissioning of these residential buildings. Furthermore, in order to protect the lawful interests of property owners, I am instructing the Inspection to strengthen monitoring and to take all measures prescribed by law in cases where construction has been completed but the developer/company fails to fully and properly fulfill its obligations required for commissioning the buildings”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
