The trial of Giorgi Kandelaki and 6 other people detained with him is underway in the City Court. The lawyer filed a motion for bail of 100,000 GEL, and the Prosecutor’s Office requested imprisonment for all 7 people.

Several defendants, including Kandelaki, used their right to speak at the trial and said that they did not plead guilty and had nothing to do with the case.

The investigative service revealed an illegal enterprise in Shida Kartli and seized homemade alcoholic beverages and excise-free cigarettes worth tens of millions. It is not excluded that the circle of defendants will expand.

Also, an examination will determine whether the homemade beverage was dangerous to human health.
