Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia meets Kokhir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of Tajikistan

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda. During the face-to-face meeting, the special importance of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Tajikistan was emphasized. The parties expressed hope that the first visit at the highest level will take bilateral relations to a new level and provide an additional impetus for deepening cooperation in various fields.

Attention was focused on the importance of further strengthening coordination within international organizations and in multilateral formats. After the face-to-face meeting, the negotiations continued in an expanded format, in which members of the governments of the two countries participated.

The Prime Minister of Tajikistan assessed the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia as historic and confirmed his readiness to deepen friendly relations with Georgia.

"This is a historic moment for our countries. The head of the Georgian government has visited Tajikistan for the first time, and I am confident that a new, very important chapter will be written in the history of our relations.

The relations between our people have always been based on trust, respect and sincerity. Georgians hold a special place in the hearts of the Tajik people because of their nature, rich culture and traditions. The contribution of Georgian friends to the fields of science, healthcare, construction and architecture of Tajikistan holds a special place in our history. Our meeting is given another important significance by the name of one of the main avenues in the center of Dushanbe. Our countries have always understood each other well, and today our common goal is to give a serious boost to bilateral cooperation in all directions", - noted Kohir Rasulzoda.

The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the Prime Minister of Tajikistan for hosting the Georgian delegation at the highest level.

"This is a historic moment. The first official visit at the highest level from Georgia is being made to Tajikistan. Our nations, our countries are closely connected with each other by historical traditions, friendship, and it is our responsibility to do our utmost to strengthen our partnership and cooperation. We reaffirm our commitment to this goal. I would like to thank Tajikistan for its strong support and protection of Georgia`s national interests. Thank you for respecting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is of particular importance to Georgia", - added Irakli Kobakhidze.

After the meeting, agreements on cooperation in various fields were signed between Georgia and the Republic of Tajikistan. The signing ceremony was attended by the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Tajikistan.
