Georgia’s FX reserves hit USD 7.1 billion, rising 52% YoY amid strong economic growth and Lari appreciation - Kobakhidze

In parallel with economic growth, our foreign exchange reserves are increasing, and the National Bank of Georgia [NBG] is actively working in this direction. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this at today’ at the government meeting.

As he noted, the country’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to USD 7.1 billion last month, which is an all-time high. Head of the Government thanked the NBG and its President for their successful performance.

“Last month, our foreign exchange reserves amounted to USD 7.1 billion, which is an all-time high. On a year-on-year basis, our foreign exchange reserves increased by 52%. This is the result of economic success and the successful performance of the NBG. I want to thank the NBG and its president for their efforts and work. It is also a result of their performance that the Lari exchange rate has strengthened in recent months, and we must do everything to maintain these overall trends in our economy and financial sector”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
