According to information disseminated by various media outlets, the participants of the rally announced by the United National Movement, despite the explanations and instructions provided to the organizers in advance, are still planning to assemble in the area surrounding the "Rike Tubes". Such a statement was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"Based on the above mentioned fact, the Ministry of Internal Affairs considers it appropriate to provide the public with information once again regarding the circumstances and security measures in place.
As the organizers of the rally have already explained on several occasions, the relevant services of Tbilisi Municipality have begun the necessary preparatory works for the event in connection with "Tbilisoba 2026" events in the area surrounding Europe Square and Rike Park.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the organizers and participants of the rally not to interfere with the preparatory works for "Tbilisoba 2026" events and not to enter the areas where the relevant services are working.
In addition, it is especially important that citizens abstain from approaching the area adjacent to the "Rike Tubes" where dismantling works are underway. Given the specifics of the ongoing works, the entry and movement of citizens in the mentioned area is associated with increased security risks and may pose a threat to their lives and health. The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again calls on the organizers and participants of the rally not to exceed the norms established by the Law on Assembly and Manifestation, to take into account the current situation on the ground, observe safety rules, not to interfere with the ongoing works and follow the lawful requests of the police.
The police will ensure public order and the safety of citizens on the ground and will respond accordingly within the frames of their competence envisioned by law", - reads the statement.
