We, of course, we will go to the Constitutional Court - Eka Gigauri on wiretapping law

The Executive Director of non-governmental organization Transparency International - Georgia,Eka Gigauri spoke in the Courier about the so-called wiretapping law noting "a lot of problems remained in the bill, which was adopted by the Parliament."

According to Gigauri, it is important to continue the legal way to establish in Georgia a European standard of wiretapping system.
"We, of course, we will go to the Constitutional Court. We will get involved in the consultation with the President and we think that using his lawful rights it will be possible to take concrete steps, including in the Constitutional Court , "- said Gigauri.

According to Gigauri , they also intend to hold consultations with the Public Defender`s Office.
According to Gigauri, all, except for the ruling party, think that the so-called wiretapping bill contains problems, however, as she said, "everyone"s opinion is ignored and eventually the law was adopted , which the ruling party believes to be correct and feasible."

"We will appeal to the Constitutional Court, in addition, we will write an appeal to Strasbourg and file a lawsuit in the European Court of Human Rights ," - said Gigauri.
