Shalva Shavgulidze, a member of Free Democrats, criticizes legislative policy of the Georgian Dream. According to him, the decisions of the ruling party put under institutional control the highly independent agencies, such as, for example, the prosecutor`s office.

He noted that the Georgian Dream was trying by means of the Constitutional commission to undermine the Presidential Institute.

"If we see the obstacles that we cannot overcome, and the final product of the work of the Constitutional Commission will be detrimental to our country"s democratic development, we will certainly not take responsibility for this harmful product, and only in this case we will be forced to leave the commission, "- said Shalva Shavgulidze.

Opposition party members hope that the involvement of the Venice Commission members will change the ruling party`s intentions.
