Bidzina Ivanishvili did not attend Kakhi Kaladze`s nomination for Tbilisi Mayor position. Opposition representatives and experts are looking for different explanations for this action of the former prime minister.

Political secretary of Free Democrats Nino Goguadze says that Kaladze`s political authority is based on Ivanishvili`s political resources. She also said that there is no independent leader in the Georgian Dream`s political team and Ivanishvili`s influence will always be there.

Nino Goguadze said that it does not matter whether Ivanishvili will be officially involved or not in the pre-election campaign.

Doctor of political sciences, founder and director of Tbilisi School of Political Studies, Armas Akhvlediani says that Ivanishvili tries to avoid responsibility and therefore is not officially involved in the pre-election marathon, because at this stage the "Georgian Dream" is in a difficult situation.

Gubaz Sanikidze, a member of the "Democratic Movement - United Georgia",say that the fact that Bidzina Ivanishvili refrains from involvement in the pre-election campaign will support the political process.

Political expert Gia Khukhashvili notes that Ivanishvili" has influence on the political process. The politologist notes that the ruling team has the only asset and that is the oligarch.
