Non-parliamentary opposition will officially propose to goverment to launch talks on constitutional amendments on Wednesday

The nonparliamentary opposition will make the official offer on Wednesday. After the enlarged meeting with the diplomatic corps and the president, the opposition will again propose to the government to start negotiations on constitutional amendments.

If the government refuses, then the opposition will raise the issue at the meeting with the vice president of the United States. So far the president did not answer whether he would attend an extended meeting on Wednesday. However, Giorgi Margvelashvili`s political secretary thinks that a solution should be found quickly as the legitimacy of the country`s main law is under threat.

Four days after the departure of the Venice Commission, the majority does not change position and refuses to start negotiations with opponents. Opponents think that if the ruling team does not compromise on the electoral system and rules of presidential election, "Georgian Dream" will have to pay a huge political price.

Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament will have to listen to the European partners` assessments in Strasbourg. Together with the opposition, the parliament speaker left for France this morning. He will have meetings in the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. Irakli Kobakhidze should present to the members of the Association Committee a constitutional reform adopted by zero consensus.
