Constitutional amendments - Irakli Kobakhidze does not see need for president`s involvement

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia expresses readiness to have consultions on the constitutional amendments but does not see the necessity of involving the president. Kobakhidze intends to continue to look for a compromise with opposition parties.

Eka Mishveladze, the President`s spokesperson responded to Kobakhidze at the traditional briefing and noted that Giorgi Margvelashvili only demands the recall of the Georgian Dream`s constitution.

The ruling team does not change the electoral system, because in this case, the problems will be created for the "Georgian Dream" .

Political parties could not understand from the statement of the Chairman of the Parliament, what the ruling team offers to the opponents and whether the "Georgian Dream" is going to compromise on anything.

Non-parliamentary opposition will hold the next round of consultations in a few days.
