Occupation Law is a major problem of relations with Russia for " Alliance of Patriots"

Members of the "Alliance of Patriots " in Moscow have agreed with the Duma deputies on several issues today. MPs - Giorgi Lomia, Ada Marshania and Nato Chkheidze met with Vladimir Putin`s "United Russia" and "Communist" party representatives.

Georgian MPs talked to Russian colleagues about simplification of visa regime and restoration of diplomatic relations.

It is noteworthy that members of the "Alliance of Patriots" did not raise the issue of occupation by Russia and agreed with Duma"s lawmakers that the "Law on Occupation" of Georgia is a hindrance to relations with the Kremlin.

Members of the party that has a six-member mandate in the parliament agreed with the "Communist" and Putin`s" parties that the creation of an informal format at the first stage of the Russian-Georgian direct dialogue is essential.

The Duma MPs talked about the success of the "Alliance of Patriots". Giorgi Lomia, a member of the party thinks that their party`s popularity can be explained by the fact that people want a party that will act in the interests of their country and not in the nterests of other foreign countries.

The initiator of the meeting, Leonid Kalashnikov, Chairman of the CIS and Eurasian Integration Committee of the Russian State Duma, is convinced that the success of the "Alliance of Patriots" can be explained by their pro-Russian position.
