Russian Foreign Ministry calls on Russian tourists in occupied Abkhazia to be cautious. A statement posted on the Foreign Ministry`s website says that the Foreign Ministry expresses its concern over a robbery attack on tourists and calls on Abkhazia law enforcement agencies for the investigation of the case and detention of criminals.

On July 11, a group of tourists near the village of Gudauta were attacked by unidentified persons which resulted in the death of a man". The family members of the dead, including 4 children, were kidnapped for the purpose of extorting ransom, but law enforcement officers were able to release them.
