Punishment can be canceled for the purchase and storage of dezomorphine. The decision was passed by the Constitutional Court. Today the court discussed "Lasha Bakhutashvili v. Parliament of Georgia" case.

The Constitutional Court satisfied the appeal of the citizen Lasha Bakhutashvili and found it unconstitutional that buying, keeping and consumption of 0,0009 gr of dezomorphin is still punishable by imprisoned from 5 to 8 years. Bakhutashvili was jailed for this term several years ago.

Today"s decision was evaluated by non-governmental organizations working in drug policy. According to them, the decision made by the Constitutional Court will facilitate liberalization of drug policy.
