Natural gas tariffs have increased by 47 percent in regions. According to the decision of the Ministry of Energy, the companies will no longer define the tariff for the so-called deregulated users who have joined the network since 2007.
The Ministry of Energy states that all consumers will use one tariff. Today, the Ministry also explained that the memorandum for KazTransGas will be annulled and the government will not be able to subsidize the natural gaz tariff any more.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Georgia Mariam Valishvili says that the tariff in Tbilisi will increase by half tetri.
"Effective tariff is growing in Tbilisi only by half tetri. Deregulated segment will not exist anymore and there will be regulated tariff so that there will be no difference in consumers and only one uniform tariff will be valid , "- said Mariam Valishvili.
Irina Milorava, chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, noted that there would be no difference between the tariffs according to regions and the GNERC would set a single tariff.
"Now we have identified uniform tariffs and accordingly, these differences will no longer exist," said Irina Milorava.
SOCAR Georgia Gas Director General assesses the revision of tariffs.
"We consider the review of the tariff as a positive step. Because we consider one of the main tools to regulate the market ... The exact figure was named a few minutes ago and we need time to analyze. Hence, we will make some changes in our work, " - said Azer Mammadov.
