Non-governmental organizations protest the articles of the new constitution that relate to freedom of religion.

The civil sector has already sent appeal to international authoritative organizations.

Addressees of the extensive appeal of civil society representatives are the Parliament of Georgia, the President, the Venice Commission, the UN and the Council of Europe. The authors of the message think that the Georgian government is establishing groundless religious restrictions and intends to gain control over religious groups.

The most issue disputed from the record on the limitation of freedom of religion is the record on the state security .

Lawyers claim that the controversial record, which is already received in two hearings by the parliamentary majority, is against European standards. That`s why the partner international organizations call for activation and preparation of recommendations. They have a specific appeal to the President of Georgia.

Part of religious confessions see as a threat the constitutional amendments.
