Fire fighters managed to seize the fire only three hours after it broke out in the Tbilisi Center yesterday.

Two hectares of land is burned on the Mtatsminda slopes.

The fire was spread quickly near the second lane of Gogebashvili street. In a short period of time the fire strengthened and even threatened houses.
Despite the scorching fire, evacuation of the population was not needed at night.

Nearly at 1 o"clock at night the fire spread out and reached the Mtatsminda park. Tourists have left the territory due to heavy smoke.
70 firefighters were involved in the operation. The cause of fire remains unknown.
