Relatives and politicians of those killed in the war are gathering in the Heroes Square in connection with the 25th anniversary of the start of hostilities in Abkhazia. They recall the 25-year-old tragedy.

Representatives of non-parliamentary opposition were present at the Hero Square. They laid flowers at the memorial and honored the memory of the dead.

"The war is not over, the war continues and we see it every day. This is a creeping occupation and special operations carried out by FSB representatives. Therefore, it is important for us to remember why we are fighting. We are fighting for our sovereignty, for our independence, and for our freedom, "- Paata Davitaia, the chairman of the European Democrats said.
