In  Akhaltsikhe district, fire extinguishing work was resumed early in the morning. One helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs is involved in the process.

The fire extinguishing operation was stopped at night due to the safety of firefighter-rescuers. The area where the fire is spread is rocky and hard to reach.

Village Sviri is the last place that can be reached by car. The fires are 5 km from the village, but it is virtually impossible to drive fire engines there.

The firefighter rescuers advise the media to leave the area due to safety.

The fires in the woods surrounding Sviri errupted at about 17:00 yesterday. Rescue service officials say that fire is not too large, but it is not possible to localize it yet. No official comment has yet been made regarding the current situation.
