The Public Defender responds to the OSCE"s opinion regarding the government"s initiative to create the Media Ombudsman Institute.
Ucha Nanuashvili shares the position of the international organization and believes that it is not necessary to create new institutions.
"Our views fully coincide with the OSCE conclusion, and we believe that existing institutions should develop in this direction," Ucha Nanuashvili said.
Media experts evaluate OSCE"s position as an actual refusal on Giorgi Kvirikashvili"s initiative. The document says that the initiative is related to the situation in regard to the Rustavi 2 process and the situation in the Public Broadcaster.
The international organization believes that the existence of such institution should be resolved by consensus.
