Georgia"s former prime minister, Bidzina Ivanishvili has 14 aircrafts, which can be used for fire extinguishing operations.
Despite the fact that in recent weeks Georgia has fought with fires in various regions of the country and requested friendly countriesfor assistance with aviation, 14 Georgian helicopters have not been involved in the operation. Private aviation is on a rescue mission in Afghanistan and its owner receives millions.
One MI8 was damages during the deadliest fires in Borjomi Gorge and the state remained with one rescue helicopter. However, another Georgian helicopter joined the fire extinguishing mission in Abastumani, which is reportedly owned by a private person.
The head of the Civil Aviation Professionals Association says that the flying vehicles, which belong to the Aviaservice, Bidzina Ivanishvili`s company, are equipped with rescue functions.
From the Civil Aviation Agency it is clear that Aviaservice has 8 Russian and one ultra modernized Eurocopter, five of which are Mi-8 helicopters, the types that have been used for fighting firing in Georgia for the last 10 days. Aviaservice is owned by Bidzina Ivanishvili`s Cartu Group.
Director of Aviaservice.Aleko Tkemaladze confirmed that helicopters were sent to Asia for humanitarian missions.
Vaso Urushadze, the founder of Hab Georgia, claims that another helicopter of the M8 type is owned by Airexpedition, which, according to him, is a partner of Bidzina Ivanishvili"s company.
It is also incomprehensible for Vaso Urushadze why the government did not use in operations another French helicopter European craft acquired recently , which, as he said, has a function of extinguishing the fire.
There are 3 M8 helicopters in Georgia, owned by the company Tushheti, which operate in different directions within the country.
