One of the topics discussed at the International Security Forum in Tbilisi today was the importance of free media. Participants spoke about the case of Rustavi2 and actions against the broadcasting company.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia stated that nobody interferes in work of the broadcasting company. Moreover, despite liabilities the TV company is able to continue work in normal regime.
"All of us notice that nobody interferes with Rustavi 2"s functioning. There was a court decision , which we appreciate. Afterward there was a decision of the European Court of Human Rights that we disagree but respect. So the television continues to function. Despite the huge budgetary debt, we made a decision not to freeze its accounts and demonstrated that provision of the free media environment is a government"s will, "Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
