The Coalition for "Independent and Transparent Judiciary" blames the Interior Minister for attempting to discredit the Public Defender.

The case concerns the statement of Giorgi Mghebrishvili, where the Minister used the improper vocabulary with regrad to the Ombudsman`s Office. It is about Ucha Nanuashvili`s statement on the alleged torture of the defendant by law enforcers was discussed.

"Instead of similar statements, the state should establish an effective mechanism to investigate possible law violations by law enforcement agencies.,"- said Sopho Verdzeuli, representative of the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center.
