Within the framework of the Defense and Security Conference in Batumi, the President of Georgia and the Head of Government are holding bilateral meetings with the participants of the conference.

The main issues discussed are the NATO summit and Georgia`s European integration. Giorgi Margvelashvili has already held meetings with NATO Secretary General`s Special Representative for Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai. As Assistant to the President of Georgia - Secretary of National Security Council Davit Rakviashvili said, the issue touched upon all the threats coming from Russia.

, According to Tengiz Pkhaladze, a Secretary of the Foreign Relations of the President of Georgia, Georgia"s European integration and acceleration of the process was also discussed.

"It is very important that Georgia"s problems should be discussed in the context of common European security. When we talk about the challenges faced by the EU, including hybrid wars, information security, etc. Georgia should always be mentioned. The discussion touched upon how to make the European integration process even faster for our citizens, "- said Tengiz Pkhaladze, Secretary of Foreign Relations of the President of Georgia.

According to the statement of Foreign Minister, it is very important that Georgia gets prepared for the 2018 summit and this is one of the main topics of discussion.

US Ambassador Jan Kelly also commented on the fact that Georgia has a huge role in the Black Sea Security Concept.
