Archbishop Dimitri, the Metropolitan of Batumi and Lazeti, the Head of the Georgian Patriarchate"s Information department made comments after his visit to the prison, where he had met with Father Giorgi Mamaladze.

He focused on the so-called cyanide case and stated that this is a conspiracy against him and the Patriarch.

"Father George believes that this is a conspiracy against me. We had a long conversation. I believe that it was a conspiracy not only against me, but against the Church and the one who managed it all, is a very bad person, "said Metropolitan Dmitriy.

The Archbishop declared that Father Giorgi Mamaladze had apologized to him at the meeting because he had not informed him about certain issues.

According to the clergy, the investigation has left many unanswered questions about the case.

"I asked him directly, if he had cyanide and I want to underline, that it is not proved. There are many questions on this issue in society and they should be answered. If anyone wants father Giorgi Mamaladze to be justified- it is me,"- said Bishop Dimitri.
