Part of the clergy was on an official visa in the United States. High-ranking clergymen returned from Washington late last night.
The delegation of the Patriarchate held meetings with representatives of the United States Administration, Navy Forces and former Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Melia,they also took part in the Conference held at the National Endowment for Democracy.
During the meetings the Holy Synod members spoke about Georgia"s strategic partners and historic enemies. The Georgian bishops urged the United States to actively campaign against Russian propaganda in Georgia.
"Many issues were discussed with us, even with security issues, I would assess this visit very positively, perhaps, as a result of our efforts, it will be reflected in our country too," said Archbishop Jacob .
