Parliamentary majority members make political assessments in regard to Mikheil Saakashvili"s detention. The members of the ruling team say that the former President will not be able to avoid a criminal persecution in Georgia as well and the decision on the extradition should be taken by Ukrainian side.

 "Mikheil Saakashvili, because of his adventurous political nature, has always been on the verge and sometimes he used to violate the law in order to achieve some political effect. I do not think that the Ukrainian state should endure it, "said Gedevan Popkhadze, the first deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration.

The statement was made by Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction as well. According to him, the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili has been repeatedly requested by the Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia.

"I am ashamed that this man was the President of my country, "Mamuka Mdinaradze said.
