The opposition is waiting for concrete decisions from Giorgi Margvelashvili after judgment against the third president of Georgia. Political parties call on Giorgi Margvelashvili to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili and to protect the President"s Institute.
The position of the government is radically different. Tea Tsulukiani considers that using of the right granted by the Constitution according to somebody`s taste means that the president"s institute is not a part of the legal state.
"If you have the right, only you and no one else,to pardon the prisoners , it does not mean that you have the right to use this rightfor personal interest and against the public interest," said Tsulukiani.
Following statements regarding the contol of the privileged right of the President to pardon, the Minister of Justice became an addressee of the crticism of the civil sector. NGOs believe that if Mikheil Saakashvili continued legal dispute in Strasbourg, he will be the first President of Georgia to win an international dispute with the government.
