Protest action in the center of Sno - population protests construction of high voltage transmission line

Protest rally is underway in the center of Sno this time. The local population protests construction of Ksani-Stepantsminda 500-kilowatt high voltage transmission line. They are asking for another alternative area for construction.

The population of Sno says that the high voltage transmission line passes the territories of their houses, yards and they will not be able to use their own land plots.
According to demonstrators a 500-kilometer high voltage transmission line is dangerous for their health.

The population wanted to stop construction, but law enforcers did not allow them to do so. According to locals, the area where the high voltage transmission line is being built is illegally misappropriated and investigation is underway in the investigative department.

The construction company has responding to the accusations of the population . Jemal Akhalaia, technical director of the company "EnergoTrans", said that the construction is legal.
