The non-governmental sector responds to the attack on the high-ranking police officer and employees of Bassiani"s Security Service.

Sopho Verdzeuli, the representative of the "Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center", says that it is obvious that the judiciary has a different approach in regard to this case which raises suspicion that the accused is freed due to some influences.

"There were many questions, including the accused"s connections ties as well as the use of the preventive measure, the approach which differs from other similar cases. Of course, all these issues raise questions that the defendant has links with influential groups," - said Sopho Verdzeuli.
