The prosecutor"s office launched investigation under the article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia which envisages premeditated murder into the murder case of journalist Giorgi Sanaia on the basis of current circumstances. The Ministry of Defense recently released a statement.

"The Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia studied initial information, interviewed convict Kote Tsikhistavi, as well as the family members of the killed journalist, and decided to launch an investigation given the newly revealed circumstances in order to objectively and thoroughly verify the spread reports. The Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia will conduct all necessary investigative and procedural actions and will inform the public of the results of the investigation," reads the statement.
