The family of Georgians from Kakheti region of Azerbaijan asks the Georgian government for help. Beso Kuzibabashvili says he was beaten and tortured by Azerbaijani police a week ago. As he says, police officers were watching during the interview.

Photographs that he sent to "Courier" show that the Kakhi resident has physical injuries on his body. Beso Kuzibabashvili said in a telephone interview that Azerbaijani policemen physically abused him on ethnic and religious grounds .

Beso Kuzibabashvili claims that the Kakhi Regional police officers had kept him in the department for several days and did not allow the doctor to him. After several requests of the family he was released, the family was not allowed to carry out the expertise. His brother Shengel Kuzibabashvili was not able to find justice in Azerbaijan and addressed for help the government of Georgia and the Public Defender.

Shengel Kuzibabashvili does not rule out that after this interview he may be arrested in Azerbaijan. "Courier" contacted Kakhi police today. According to the policeman, Kuzibabashvili was not beaten.
