The Patriarchate takes 25 million as a bribe from the state - the representatives of the "Republican Party" made a statement. The non-parliamentary opposition says that the authorities should stop funding the Church, and the finances of the Patriarchate should be transparent. The press conference was held in response to the yesterday"s statement of the Patriarchate.

"The Patriarchate has became a part of the government, and we believe that 25 million GEl, which the Patriarchate takes from the budget without any justification is just a bribe. This process cannot be transparent. We are saying that this process should stop," - says Khatuna Samnidze, the Chairperson of Republican Party.

"Republican Party" states that the Patriarchate has sacrificed a person in regard to the cyanide case and it is unacceptable.

" We the Republicans see no authority in the person of Patriarch, President, or the Prime Minister. For us only people have authority, "said Tamar Chikovani, member of the Republican Party.
