German Bundestag grants Georgia status of safe country

The German Bundestag approved the draft law, which states that Georgia and Maghreb countries will be granted status of safe countries.
According to the Foreign Ministry, 509 MPs voted for and 138 against the draft law.
"The consent of the Bundestag (Federal Council) is necessary for the entry into force of this bill. Accordingly, the draft law will be forwarded to the Bundestrat for further procedures, which are held once a month.Further consultations between the parties in the Bundestrat are plannedbefore voting, "the ministry said.
