Tbilisi City Hall will use all the leverages to prevent the construction of a hotel in Vake Park.Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Maya Bitadze made this statement.
"We would like to respond to the statement made by Giorgi Zakaidze, director of the hotel Budapest, according to which the construction of the hotel will not damage the main park of the capital. We understand the business interests of the private owner - the company won all the instances of the court, but the issue should be resolved through consensus in favor of the city. The mayor of Tbilisi has already talked about it and the statement made by the investor is categorically unacceptable . Through negotiations we will do our best not to build a 9-storey 30-meter hotel on the territory of the park, which is unacceptable, "said Maia Bitadze.
The deputy mayor of Tbilisi thanked civil activists who played a big role in suspending the hotel construction process for some time.
