European Court of Human Rights to announce decision on case Georgia against Russia on January 31

The European Court of Human Rights will announce a decision on a case Georgia against Russia. The public hearing is scheduled for January 31.

On 3 July 2014 the Court established that that in 2006 the Russian authorities were conducting a coordinated policy of detention, arrest and mass eviction of Georgians, which violated several articles of the Convention.

The court took the case into proceedings in 2009 and questioned witnesses in 2011.
