Four employees of Administration of Muslims quit their posts in protest

Four employees of Administration of Muslims have quit their posts in protest of election of new Mufti of Georgia Adam Shantadze.

These 4 persons are: Advisor of Mufti Temur Gorgadze, Head of Press – center Otar Nadiradze, Head of Publishing house Gela Gogitidze and Head of Education Department Rezo Mikeladze said that Adam Shantadze was the candidate of the State Security Service and his appointment would not benefit the interests of Muslims.

According to Gorgadze, the elections had to be held one month ago: “The State Security Service was looking for a desirable candidate. The Administration of Mufti last night received a telephone call and Mufti himself learnt that he would be elected”.

Adam Shantadze previously served as Deputy Mufti at the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia. His candidacy was supported by 12 members out of 19 from the Council of Muslims.
