The first case of COVID-19 confirmed in the occupied Abkhazia region, in the city of Gagra.

According to the local media, the infected patient is placed at Gudauta Central Hospital.

“The patient is hospitalized and isolated. Currently his condition is satisfactory. The patient has arrived from Moscow, where he was on a business trip. Epidemiologists are examining the contacts of the infected citizen” - said Lyudmila Skorik, Abkhazia’s chief sanitation officer, to Sputnik-Abkhazia

Earlier, it was reported that 86 people had been tested for COVID-19, but test results were negative.
