One more victim of occupation regime – a man from Akhalgori dies on his way to the hospital in Tbilisi

A 63-year-old man from Akhalgori has lost his life inside a car while being taken to the hospital in Tbilisi.

As the Akhalgori governor Nugzar Tinikashvili told Kurieri, the patient needed medical treatment, but he was not allowed to enter the territory controlled by the Georgian Central government.

“He man was asking for medical treatment, but the occupation regime did not allow him to cross the so-called border. They made a decision when his health state aggravated. He died on his way to the hospital in Tbilisi. He was brought by the Red Cross”, - added Tinikashvili.

The Russian-controlled Tskhinvali closed the last crossing point connecting the region with the rest of Georgia on February 27, 2020 “to prevent the spread of coronavirus”.
