Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into two cases of violation of isolation and quarantine norms in eatery facilities located in Tbilisi

Old Tbilisi Police Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched investigation and initiated police activities on the fact of the breach of isolation and quarantine norms in eatery facilities of LTD “Atoneli” located on Ivane Machabeli Street and bar “Fellers” on Kote Abkhazi Street.


In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and reduce the disease caused by the virus, under the the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council of Georgia, restaurants, bars and cafes in Tbilisi, Batumi and Imereti region will be open from 07:00 am to 22:00 pm from October 15, 2020.


On October 17 and 19 of the current year, the staff of the Labor Conditions Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health revealed the fact of operation under the repeated violations in eatery facility owned by LTD “Atoneli” and bar “Fellers”- crime envisaged by the government resolution N322, adopted in 2020 and Law on Public Health. Regarding the mentioned fact, the Ministry of Internal Affairs was informed respectively.


As a result of investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs it was established that the mentioned eatery facilities continued economic activities after 22:00 pm, in violation of the rules established by the legislation of Georgia. According to facility representatives, both bars were the headquarters of one of the political parties, the documents of which were not submitted to the law enforcement agency representatives from the side of the facility owners.


The abovementioned crime committed by the physical person envisages imprisonment up to three years, while in case if such crime is perpetrated by a legal entity, the form of punishment envisages fine, deprivation of operation permit or liquidation and fine.


Both cases of the breach of isolation and quarantine norms are being investigated under the article 2481 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
