The peak of coronavirus outbreak in Georgia is expected in 2nd/3rd week of November - Gamkrelidze

Based on different forecasting models, the peak of coronavirus outbreak in Georgia is expected in the second/third week of November, said today the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

“Statistics are growing, and the number of cases will increase. Using different forecasting models made by the Center for Disease Control, a peak will occur in the 2nd, 3rd week of November, so the daily increase in the number of cases will continue. The main thing is that we control the process. It is still manageable and should remain so. The recommendations, which include the use of masks, social distance, and hygiene, should be followed”, - said Amiran Gamkrelidze.

He added that according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation report, in the past three weeks, coronavirus became the third biggest killer after ischemic heart disease and stroke.
