In Oni municipality, search operations continue actively in the disaster zone both with live force, heavy equipment and swimming means of transport. As a result of monitoring, another body was found by the rescuers.

At the end of the day, Temur Mghebrishvili, head of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, made a summary comment to the media regarding the ongoing work.

“Today, the number of casualties have changed, one body has been detected directly in the epicenter of the disaster. In addition, a human fragment has been noticed.

A Hyundai car was found in the epicenter of the disaster on which we informed you in the morning. We presumed that there could have been missing people in it. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find the missing people. In addition, search operations continue intensively on the river up to the territory of Ambrolauri.

We are planning to regroup and change the strategy for tomorrow. As of today, 25 bodies have been found and search and rescue measures are underway for 8 people. Identification procedures are ongoing for 5 people. As noted, 25-26% of the land mass remained to be searched, this number has changed during the day”, - said Temur Mghebrishvili.
