Catholicos - Patriarch Ilia II baptizes another 843 children

In Tbilisi’s Holy Trinity Sameba Cathedral the 68th mass Baptism was celebrated, with Catholicos - Patriarch Ilia II becoming the Godfather of 843 newly-baptized kid.

Catholicos - Patriarch of Georgia is already godfather of around 47 000 children. The first general baptism was held at the Trinity temple on 19 January 2008. The Patriarch baptizes the 3rd child of each wedded couple. His initiative is aimed at improving the demographic state in the country.
