Heavy snowfall and ice caused traffic restrictions on roads of international importance in mountainous regions of Georgia.

The Roads Department said the traffic movement for trailers and semi-trailers was restricted on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the international Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway, with other types of vehicles permitted on the road section.

The movement of vehicles on the Gudauri-Kobi section is permitted only through the avalanche protection tunnels.
