Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee members visit Public Schools in the Chugureti district

Chairman of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikanadze, and the Committee members, accompanied by the First Vice-Speaker, Giorgi Volski and the Deputy Chair Person of the Faction Georgian Dream, Rima Beradze visited the Chugureti district to have a tour in the general educational institutions, namely Public Schools N30, N37, N63, N31, and N26.

Members of Parliament, when visiting Public School N30, also met with the Principals of all Public Schools of the district and heard information about the ongoing programs and projects.

“Today, we convened a meeting with the School Principals and the Heads of the Resource Centres. Subsequently, we conducted tours of public schools undergoing rehabilitation and still encountering certain challenges. Several years ago, we established a tradition of jointly making prompt decisions and identifying solutions to the needs and problems of the schools. Today, we are visiting the Chugureti district to assess the situation in public schools that are facing specific issues that require timely resolution”, - said Givi Mikanadze.

Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities informed the School Principals about the plans of equipping school laboratories and the rehabilitation works and about their window of opportunity to address the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency with an appeal for support.

“In collaboration with the Education and Youth Ministry, we plan to meet with the School Principals of all districts of Tbilisi in the upcoming months to discuss the urgent needs that necessitate collaborative solutions”, - said Mikanadze.

Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities visited Public School N23 to assess the rehabilitation process, which is valued at 14 million GEL. “In the near future, this school building will be fully restored to its former cultural heritage status. Today, we conducted a comprehensive visit to all schools within the district that necessitate infrastructural restoration. The government is committed to ensuring that all schools have access to essential infrastructural equipment”, - remarked Rima Beradze.
