The World Fencing Championship has officially opened. Georgia is hosting the championship for the first time in history.

1,200 athletes from 135 countries will compete for the World Championship title at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace.

The Georgian team is represented by 25 athletes. 12 sets of medals will be played at the tournament.
